SPC Merville was assigned to the 2nd battalion 17th Field Artillery, and lost his life on October 12th. We send our prayers and most sincere sympathy to the Merville Family, as well as to SPC Mervilles friends and fellow comrades.

Welcome! We've set this website up as a way to keep friends and family connected about Rory's life in Iraq and as a way to show our support. Rory is currently serving his country with the US 8th Army, 2nd Infantry Division stationed in central Iraq. This website will only be as good as the participation it gets from friends and family. mervillewas my friend and a hell of a soldier. one of our very finest. there is an empty bunk 2 feet from mine where he used to sleep... he will be dearly missed
